Dr Derek Lok

Sonal works in close association with Dr Derek Lok, who is a senior Gynecologist and Fertility Specialist. He obtained his medical degrees in Hong Kong in 1990 and completed his PhD research in feto-maternal medicine at University of Adelaide in 1994.

Following this, he undertook specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Sydney and Adelaide and then sub-specialist training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) in Adelaide and the United Kingdom.

Derek was awarded Fellowship (FRANZCOG) in 2001 and a Subspecialist Certificate (CREI) in 2002. Derek is a certified (level V) endoscopic surgeon.

Derek is almost always the specialist who covers Sonal for IVF and assisted reproduction procedures when Sonal is away. Sonal and Derek assist each other for most of the fertility surgeries that they perform together, especially difficult endometriosis, tubal and uterine surgery.

Diane

Diane has worked in women’s health for more than twenty years giving her valuable insight into gynaecological issues and all aspects of fertility treatment.

She believes in making your experience with the practice as friendly and uncomplicated as possible in an environment that can often be stressful and confusing.

She takes the time to listen to you so that you feel secure in the knowledge that you are important to us.

Diane works closely with Dr Karia and staff at Genea and will escalate any concerns you may have to the appropriate person.
